Housing Office Check-In
Residents must officially check-in with their Residence Life staff each semester. Please see Check-In Schedule for specific days/times.
Fall Check-Out
Residence Halls close for Winter Break on Saturday, December 14 at noon. Unless granted special approval for extended checkout (e.g. basketball teams) from Housing or Residence Life, all students must be out by this time. All Fall campus residents approved to change rooms for Spring must do this work before leaving for Winter Break!
Spring Check-In
New students should plan to arrive and check-in with residence hall staff on Saturday, January 4 from 11:00am–1:00 PM.
Other students who have not checked into their campus rooms yet (i.e. those returning from Fall away/abroad programs, leave of absence, or re-applicants) complete check-in with residence hall staff on:
- Saturday, January 4: 11:00am–1:00 PM or 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Sunday, January 5: 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
Returning residents may return to their campus rooms on the weekend immediately preceding the first day of Spring semester. The residence halls re-open at 12:00noon on Saturday, and ID cards will be needed for the electronic door locks.
IMPORTANT: Incoming students must complete check-in during one of the listed times. Moving into your assigned room outside of these times may result in a $100 charge. ID cards must be obtained for the electronic door locks. Students who are not officially approved by Housing to arrive early for Fall, remain during a portion of Winter Break, or stay late in May will incur a $100 charge along with the possibility of additional housing charges and/or sanctions. This also applies to any student who "hosts" an unapproved guest (roommate, etc.).
Some intercollegiate groups may be allowed to return to campus prior to check-in weekend. However, these must be approved in advance with Housing. New or returning students who have not been in campus housing during the Fall semester are typically not provided housing until official Spring housing check-in. See Special Housing>Christmas/Early January for more information.
