Welcome to Housing!
We provide information and services to Westmont students for:
- on-campus housing
- off-campus local commuting (which is regulated and restricted by Westmont)
- meal plans
- parking permits
Westmont has some relatively unique housing requirements. First, all students at the main campus in Santa Barbara must have a housing assignment which has been approved by the Housing Office. Second, the number of students who are allowed to reside off-campus and commute to campus is limited. Most students who attend Westmont reside in college housing, but up to 200 students may reside on their own off-campus locally and commute IF they have obtained approval from Housing to do so. Due to the limit on the number of commuters, students who wish to reside off-campus on their own must receive approval in writing from the Housing Office. Beginning in the Fall, 2017, all students will reside on campus unless they are part of approved group who must live off-campus. See Off-Campus Commuting.
Housing procedures vary by term (e.g. Fall, Spring, Summer, or Special) and according to different constituencies (New, Returning, Away-Abraod, or Re-Applicant). You may reach the Housing Office by calling, writing or visiting.
We are located in the Clark-N Cottage, which overlooks the large Clark parking lot (near Emerson) on upper campus. Open hours are 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday (lunch hour and occasional meetings away from the office, notwithstanding). No appointments are necessary, but please request one if needed.
