Transfer Spotlight Tabitha Brown

Tabitha chose to begin college at a big school. But after studying at two large universities, she felt socially stagnant and anonymous. Then she transferred to Westmont. “Everyone is friends with everyone here,” she says. “I’m meeting so many new people. Some will walk up to me and ask, ‘Are you new? I haven’t seen you around.’”

Easy access to her professors—who extended their office hours to meet with her—also made the transition easy and comfortable. “My French professor made time for me and encouraged me,” she says. With this kind of close-knit community supporting her, she is pursuing a career in marketing and public relations. “It sounds kind of crazy, but I really want to work for the NFL.”
