ACSD Praxis Workshop: The Rising Tide of Student Anxiety
About the Praxis Workshop:
Over the past five years, levels of anxiety and stress have grown exponentially on college campuses. Students are increasingly overwhelmed by all that they have to do and the stress is taking a toll on learning, on well-being, and on student involvement. Counseling centers have maxed out their staffing capacity and can no longer respond to the rising tide of anxiety on our campuses. This praxis workshop will explore what is happening with regards to student anxiety, why this happening, and what are worthwhile strategies moving forward. Dr. Steve Beers, VP of Student Life at John Brown University, and Dr. Eric Nelson, Director of Counseling at Westmont, will help lead the conversation on these critical matters. Student Life professionals, higher education administrators, and faculty who are concerned about student well being are invited to attend. The Workshop is co-sponsored by Westmont College and the Association for Christians in Student Development (ACSD).
