About Will

Will was born in Korea September 8, 1983, and Tom and Laura Wiersma adopted him seven months later. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Will served as the WCSA freshman class representative in 2002-03 and as WCSA’s business manager in 2003-04 and 2004-05.

He graduated magna cum laude from Westmont in June 2006 with a political science/international affairs major. He spent his senior year at Oxford University with the Gordon-at-Oxford program in 2005-06 (a program Stan Gaede helped launch when he was first at Gordon).

While at Oxford, Will studied the topic “Psychology of Religion: Human Consciousness, Identity and Freewill” at Oxford University. He returned home to Grand Rapids from England in June 2006 and then moved to Santa Barbara. Will started his first post-college job September 25, 2006, on the strategic accounts team at Commission Junction.

On October 1, 2006, Will was killed in a car accident near Palm Springs while returning to Santa Barbara from an Ultimate Frisbee regional championship in Phoenix, Ariz.
