Saturday, February 9 | 9am Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park Birding

The Tour has reached its maximum amount of participants. If you would like to be put on the waitlist, please email the museum at museum@westmont.edu.

Come for a time of learning to see, name, and  enjoy birds at the Carpinteria Salt Marsh, the restored wetland home of dozens of species of songbirds, shorebirds, waterbirds, and wading birds.  We'll be walking down a gentle path welcoming to birders of all ages. Wear good shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a bit muddy. Bring binoculars and bird guides if you have them; if not, there will be extras you can share. We'll meet at the Ash Avenue entrance, right at the intersection with Sandlyand Avenue Street at 9AM on Saturday, February 9.  The walk will last for around 1-1.5 hrs, and be led by Dr. Amanda Sparkman, a wildlife biologist at Westmont.

The museum will offer rides from Westmont to the salt marsh for students only.
