Dreams are the desires that God puts on our hearts. Our lives often center on our decisions to either pursue or give up on those dreams. Sometimes we do not know what to make of God’s calling for our lives— we may try to run from His plan out of fear, indecisiveness, or ignorance. The dreams God has given to each of us remain in the forefront of our thoughts wherever we go; if we deny them, we may never be fulfilled. Yet, if we lean into our dreams, we begin a promising, challenging, new adventure that does not guarantee a smooth path, but creates opportunities for a life full of contentment.
After three and a half years of planning, experimentation, and production, this work is a “remastered” version of previous attempts, now utilizing both a new drawing style with brush pens and experimentations with rotoscoping. The use of cardboard and paper, as well as the loosely drawn style of the characters, separate this story from a representational viewpoint of our world. Despite this symbolic approach, the inclusion of such tangible, banal materials keeps the tale grounded in a sense of reality. Ultimately, it is a narrative about humanity’s struggle to attain fulfillment.
