After moving to Santa Barbara from Texas, Connally found herself intrigued with the weather conditions and atmospheric effects of the California landscape. She finds inspiration in the coastlines and flora of California. Her gestural abstract work subtly invokes French Impressionism with its vivid colors, rapid brushstrokes, ethereal effects. Connally’s atmospheric works are rooted in abstraction, but never lose a connection to nature.
