Artist Statement
The past several years have triggered my life-long concern for the environment as well as the angst I feel for the social upheavals we have felt as a country in a world where all problems are global.

Artist Bio
Cynthia Martin has lived in Santa Barbara since 1958. She received degrees in Painting, History, and Education from UCSB and taught art for many years. 

When she retired from teaching, she set up a teen docent program for the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. 

Cynthia has had several solo exhibitions as well as many group shows in Santa Barbara, Southern California, and Thessaloniki, Greece. She is currently on the Arts Commission advisory committee, County Art in Public Places, a member of the Santa Barbara Studio Artists Board, and Membership Chair of the Abstract Art Collective.
