Housing Office Van Kampen Hall

Welcome to Van Kampen Hall! Van Kampen, most commonly referred to as VK, is an upperclass hall on Lower Campus.  VK is known for its open layout and garden courtyard which allows students to interact with each other on a daily basis. Each suite in VK is comprised of 4 triple rooms and a shared bathroom. Approximately 200 students (100 men and 100 women) live in VK. Additionally, VK also has two lounges and kitchens which gives us plenty of space for social programs and community building.

A favorite feature of Van Kampen Hall is its large and sunny courtyard, which is a popular place for frequent interaction among residents and visitors. It also features three lounges - a study lounge with a printer/copier, a game lounge, and a social lounge with a large kitchen.

While each year brings unique programs and events, there are a few VK staples you can count on: The Annual Lighting of VK (now in its 12th year where we hang up outdoor lights in the Courtyard, eat a ton of yummy food, and set up a Christmas tree), Pancake Nights (where the RA staff will cook all the chocolate chip pancakes you can eat), the Bougie Garden Brunch (catered and served in the VK Courtyard so you can come in your pajamas), and the Lower Campus Block Party (which is a huge grillout done in conjunction with Armington Halls and the GLC). VK seeks to be a fun, welcoming, and inclusive space. As a Residence Life Staff, it is our hope that students don't just live here, but that they choose to fully engage and be a part of this community. We can't wait to meet you!
