Chandigarh is a city in India partially built in the 1960s that is based on plans by the famous European modern architect Le Corbusier. Created as a new metropolis, the city’s utopian concepts changed when situated in a southeast Asian culture. Iwan Baan photographed the city early in the 21st century, focusing on how European modernity shifted within the cultural context of Indian contemporary life.
