Metaphors are part of everyday life, and metaphoric language establishes frameworks for understanding what is happening in any given situation, who is communicating, and what appropriate responses might be. Using materials from the COVID-19 pandemic as a case study, we’ll discuss principles that can help communities process events in healthy ways and coordinate actions within and across communities for greater hope.
