Adam Goodworth, Ph.D.

Dr. Goodworth received his Ph.D. from Oregon Health & Science University in Biomedical Engineering and his MS and BS in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He was an Associate Professor at the University of Hartford for 9 years prior to joining Westmont College. His teaching and research crosses disciplines of engineering, neuroscience, and rehabilitation. His research uses engineering approaches to study clinical problems: trunk postural control moderate-to-severe cerebral palsy, human factors in transfemoral prosthetics, and balance and falls. Dr. Goodworth regularly includes students in laboratory based experiments and computer simulations. He has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and acquired over 1 million dollars in research funding. Dr. Goodworth is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering and has a Certificate in Prosthetics from the Newington Certificate Program.
