A British painter who lives in Essex, Priseman created his SUMAC series of tiny landscapes (all framed in oversized, heavy moldings), which reference a gruesome event in British history. In 2006, five women, all sex-workers, were murdered by asphyxiation. Their naked bodies were left at sites in Suffolk County, which are depicted in Priseman’s small works.
