The Beach

With Butterfly Beach and East Beach just a short shuttle ride away, Westmont students are often seen in these locations getting their toes wet or partaking in a game of beach volleyball. Other popular beaches in the area include Hammond's, Hendry's, and Ledbetter. Just to the south, Rincon offers its famous surf and to the north, several state parks boast of their beautiful beaches and camping grounds.

The Mountains

Montecito is home to many hiking trails, with several just an easy walk from campus. Cold Springs Trail and Tangerine Falls are accessible from East Mountain Drive, above Page Hall. These trails wind into the hills and open up to a breathtaking aerial view of the ocean and Santa Barbara far below, as well as, if you're blessed with recent rainfall, a roaring waterfall.

Downtown

The city of Santa Barbara is just a shuttle stop away from Westmont campus. We encourage students to experience the rich blend of culture and energy that downtown has to offer. Each year, Santa Barbara hosts many cultural events, artistic festivities, and countless farmers markets and concerts, making the soul and personality of the city accessible.

Arts and Culture

Santa Barbara's endless natural beauty and close proximity to Los Angeles create a vibrant and inspired art scene. With a variety of local musical and theatrical ensembles, classical music, dance, art galleries, an international film festival, Santa Barbara mixes a big-city art scene with small-town charm.
