Housing Office May Housing for Athletes

On-campus housing during May, 2021

No one may reside in campus housing during the Mayterm period unless he/she has been assigned by the Mayterm RD or Housing Director. Campus housing (in a designated residence hall) during the month of May is available to any athlete who has been approved by his/her head coach to participate in extended intercollegiate athletics beyond the end of the spring semester.

IMPORTANT: The athlete must have specific dates approved by the coach in order to request short-term housing in May.

Short-term housing is provided for the approved dates. Students who reside off-campus locally on their own, and commute to campus for extended athletics, do not need to make any official arrangement with Housing to commute during the month of May from their own off-campus residence.

Submission deadline for application: Thursday, April 29, 2021 (last day of finals)

To apply, go to:

Early Check-In privileges

When you apply by the last day of spring finals (Thursday, April 29, 2021), you may participate in EARLY Check-In from 10am-12pm (noon) on Sunday, May 3. No online applications are accepted after the last day of finals.

Standard Check-In

Eligible students who have not applied online by the deadline may request May housing in person during Standard-Check-In from 12noon-2pm on Sunday, May 9.

Athletes who will also attend Mayterm

Athletes who want housing on-campus beyond the dates approved for extended intercollegiate participation, must submit the Mayterm Housing 2021 application as well. Note: this option should be presented on the confirmation screen after the athlete application has been submitted, and it is also available under Mayterm on Campus.

Costs for room and meals

Athletes are not charged for housing during the time they are on campus for their sport, as long as they have been approved for extended intercollegiate participation by their head coach.

Any athlete who is also attending the full 5-week Mayterm will only be charged for housing for any week (full or partial) beyond the dates approved by the coach for their extended athletics.

No meal plan is available for any portion of the 5-week Mayterm for approved athletes, even though meal plan charges may be indicated in the standard Mayterm housing application. Therefore, athletes who are in campus housing for a week or two to complete a Mayterm course (i.e. after the conclusion of extended intercollegiate athletics) may pay cash at the door for meals in the DC, prepare their own meals in the residence hall kitchen, or dine off-campus.

Location

On-campus housing during Mayterm 2021 will be in Page Hall, unless space requirements or unforeseen circumstances require the use of a different hall.

Roommates & Check-In

Check-in (for keys, roommate requests, and room assignments) will take place at Page Hall MPR (main floor lounge), unless space considerations or unforeseen circumstances require the use of another hall.

Athletes may request a specific roommate at time of check-in, but the requested roommate should share the same antipated check-out date. Athletes (and Off-Campus Travel Program participants) may be assigned to different rooms in a different section than regular Mayterm students.

We require athletes to fill each room to full occupancy, and all rooms in Page are triple occupancy. We urge athletes to form their own group of three to fill their room, but in the absence of a mutual grouping by athletes the rooms will be filled to full occupancy by Housing at check-in.
