Essentials you can use in almost ANY job—no matter what you major in.

 

Series I: Excel

Learn the essentials of Microsoft Excel from Dr. Enrico Manlapig (he makes Excel fun!). These short videos will give you a basic competency in understanding how you can use Excel. Work along with Dr. Manlapig by downloading the companion Excel worksheets that you'll see in the videos.

1: Introduction

Welcome to Microsoft Excel. Find your way around the interface and get started with adding data and writing formulas.

Copying and pasting well is the secret to building Excel spreadsheets quickly and reliably. Get started with absolute and relative referencing so you can copy and paste with confidence.

3: Formatting

Make your work consistent, predictable and pretty with formatting. Learn how to format cells and their contents. Add extra flair with cell styles, conditional formatting and sparklines.

A picture tells a thousand words. This video introduces bar/column charts as a starting point for creating your own visualizations.

There's no need to know all of Excel's built-in formulas—you can get a lot of mileage out of just a few. This list covers all the basics: arithmetic, matching/indexing, conditioning, string manipulation and dates.

Supercharge your analysis with pivot tables. Dive in, ask questions and get quick answers. Then do it all again with just a few clicks.

Excel is remarkably social: spreadsheets are meant to be shared. Finish strong by copying your work to Microsoft PowerPoint (or Word) or just printing safely and reliably.
