Team Lead + Operations:

  • Responsible for promoting and carrying overall direction and vision of Emmaus Road with the advice of the ER staff director.
  • Responsible for providing the current year vision and spiritual direction for ER in collaboration with the ER staff director.
  • Responsible for the spiritual development of team leads.
  • Provide student oversight for the program as a whole.
  • Delegate tasks and keep the team accountable in all matters related to the ER program.
  • Work with ER staff director to plan and coordinate orientation, training, and debrief sessions for ER summer participants, and keep materials up to date.
  • Attend all weekly core team meetings and summer team orientation sessions.
  • Support Business + Fundraising Lead with all required fundraising efforts throughout the year.
  • Attend all fundraising efforts pertaining to ER.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and placement of ER participants.
  • Collaborate with the ER staff director to bring health, sustainability, and longevity to the three, five, and ten year plan for ER.
  • Complete a year-end written evaluation of the Team Lead position and responsibilities.
  • Meet with the ER staff director on a regular basis for input, accountability and encouragement.
  • Pray that the program and partnerships will bring honor and glory to God around the globe!
  • This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Campus Life for Ministry and Outreach (ER staff director)

Business + Fundraising Lead:

  • Responsible for the financial aspect of the student organization via account management and funding development.
  • Provide general oversight of ER’s finances, which includes planning and facilitating all ER fundraising efforts, setting the organizational budget, maintaining accurate financial reports, and submitting check requests in order to ensure timely payments.
  • Provide leadership on all fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation and alumni care.
  • Responsible for helping organizations obtain better brand recognition and financial growth.
  • Coordinate with staff director, team, Westmont, and the greater Santa Barbara area to review current inflow and outflow of resources trends in order to propose new business ideas that can improve revenue margins.
  • Head of financial management: including accounting, auditing, budget monitoring, creating customized budgets for each team member based on job responsibilities, communication, compliance, reporting, and strategic thinking.
  • Fund Development: Spearhead fundraising vision and strategize its implementation in collaboration with the ER staff director.
  • Meet with ER staff director to discuss financial budgeting, account management, and receipts of funds raised.
  • Attend trainings assigned by the ER staff director on giving and generosity, budget management, wealth management, and asset-based development.
  • Attend all core team meetings, training, and fundraising events.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and placement of ER participants.
  • Actively plan and participate in summer team orientation and training - communicating all pertinent support raising information to ER summer teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ER staff director.

Publicity + Marketing Lead:

  • Responsible for communicating all things related to the ER program.
  • Responsible for positioning ER in the public eye and media outlets to showcase programs, opportunities, partnerships, and relevant world news.
  • Responsible for coordinating marketing and publicity efforts and strategies of ER and brand.
  • Involved in the formulation of promotion and recruitment for programs.
  • Develop marketing strategies for and coordinate implementation of any activities, either on or off campus, related to the ER program.
  • Assist, if needed, the ER Programming + Travel Lead in the planning and facilitation of events and activities, both on and off campus, that educate the Westmont student body, Santa Barbara community, and ER participants about global issues and opportunities.
  • Meet regularly with the ER staff director to discuss upcoming programming strategies and growth.
  • Attend all core team meetings, training, and fundraising events.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and placement of ER participants.
  • Actively plan and participate in ER summer team orientation and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ER Director.

  • This position requires that the individual have expertise in graphic design, social-media and marketing. Well-versed individuals in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and/or Canva will be given priority.

Programming + Travel Lead:

  • This position serves a key function in helping the campus to think critically and engage global issues throughout the school year.
  • Primary fall semester responsibilities include all things related to ER programming. Primary spring semester responsibilities include all things related to travel.
  • Responsible for clear communication of vision on the team, to the campus, and our ministry partners.
  • Enables participants to engage with Emmaus Road as thoughtful scholars and life-long learners.
  • Fall specific:
    • Responsible for planning and facilitating events and activities, for the campus and the city, that assist in educating the Westmont student body and ER summer participants about global issues and opportunities.
    • Responsible for spearheading Global Focus Week in collaboration with GISA, Conversation Cafe, and other partners; all games, activities, events, speakers, chapel communications, and worship.
    • Assist, if needed, the Publicity + Marketing Lead with communication of all things related to these programs to the broader campus, city, and world communities and/or ER participants.
    • Assist, if needed, the Publicity + Marketing Lead in developing marketing strategies for and coordinate the implementation of any activities, either on or off campus, related to the ER program.
    • Responsible for cultivating strategic friendships and partnerships in and among the Westmont and Santa Barbara community for the sake of sharing resources and promoting student ministry.
    • Coordinate with the Staff Director to plan and execute the Emmaus Road Orientation class in the spring.
  • Spring specific:
    • Actively plan and participate in ER summer team orientation and training.
    • Responsible for all travel arrangements for participants to host countries from the states in collaboration with and under the direction of the ER staff director.
    • Actively facilitate passport and visa procurement.
    • Arrange all international and domestic travel (when applicable) for and with each participant.
    • Responsible for resourcing participants with current vaccine and safety requirements for their host country.
    • Work with the Health Center to ensure access to and administration of country-specific immunizations.
    • Compile and distribute a travel checklist and information packet for each participant.
    • Compile and maintain a comprehensive travel binder and its equivalent e-file for administrative use.
  • Meet regularly with the ER advisor to discuss upcoming programming strategies.
  • Attend all core team meetings, training, and fundraising events.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and placement of ER participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ER Director.
