Giving Tuesday $50,000 Westmont Fund Challenge Match

Between November 26 and December 3, the Westmont community raised $157,000!

A generous donor that was inspired by Giving Tuesday pledged $50,000 to double gifts to the Westmont Fund for one week. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends responded with tenacity and blew the challenge out of the water! Our community gave more than $107,000, doubling the challenge match, securing the entire challenge gift to benefit students. In one week alone, the community has made it possible to direct more than $157,000 to the Westmont Fund, a vital source of grants and scholarships that impact students' lives. This generosity showcases the strength of this community and shared desire to remove financial obstacles for students seeking a transformative and top-ranked Christian liberal arts education. Last year, Westmont provided 95 percent of first year and transfer students financial aid. The college committed a significant amount in aid: $39M. The Westmont Fund is the lifeblood of student scholarships and reduces financial barriers for students from all economic backgrounds, helping them to pursue a high-caliber Christian liberal arts education at Westmont.

Engrave a Brick

There is more than one way to support Westmont on Giving Tuesday!

During the Giving Tuesday window, selecting your brick to engrave and install in the Formal Gardens, the amount counts toward our $50,000 challenge match.

Hundreds of bricks have now been installed in a special location that plays a starring role in First Walk and Commencement for Westmont students. The brick path reminds new and graduating students of the community they are part of and the generations that go before them.

The pathway has had a first phase of bricks installed (May) and second phase is being installed this week. Additional bricks will be installed in phases.

Bricks remain available to purchase and engrave after the Giving Tuesday window as well.
