Westmont Magazine Wallace Emerson Society
David ’64 and carla talbott have devoted their lives to ministry. Residents of Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center for 28 years, David serves as director of adult ministries and resident musician after working in public affairs for many years and Carla is a decorating consultant. Best known for his stirring and masterful performances on the piano and organ, David has recorded six albums of sacred piano music and one of organ arrangements. He plays often for churches, schools, conventions and organizations. As a student, he accompanied the Westmont Quartet and traveled extensively with them. “I received so much as a student, I have always wanted to give back,” he says. When he had trouble finding the funds for his senior year, an anonymous donor paid his balance. David later learned that Westmont founder Ruth Kerr had been his benefactor. Regular donors for 40 years, the Talbotts have made a provision for the college in their estate. “We want to do our small part to keep the college as strong as it can be for future generations,” Dave says. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
