Art Council Throws Downtown Reception

A reception and membership party at Casa de la Guerra, 9 East De la Guerra Street, Thursday, Sept. 13, 4-6 p.m. celebrates the continued development of Westmont’s art program. The event, sponsored by the Westmont Art Council in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, is free and open to the public.

Guests will enjoy music, refreshments and a brief lecture by author Virginia Ann Guess about Casa de la Guerra’s current exhibit, Celebrating the Spirit of Chiapas: The Expressive Art of the Roof Cross Tradition.
Westmont’s new presidential couple, Gayle and Pam Beebe, will attend the event along with faculty and art council members.

Michael Shasberger, Adams professor of music and worship, and students will perform. Anyone who is interested in supporting art education at Westmont or is curious about what the department and Art Council have to offer is welcome to attend.
