Dancers, Actors Combine for First Fall Concert
By
Westmont
Westmont’s first fall dance concert featuring a unique blend of dancing and acting will be 8 p.m. Nov. 15 and 2 and 8 p.m. Nov. 16 in Porter Theatre. Admission is $5 for students and seniors and $8 for general audience.
The performance is centered on our relationship with water and will feature one complete piece of contemporary dance. The concert will also include students acting in a European style of clowning. The piece features six dancers and seven actors.
“We are so excited, not only because this is our first fall dance concert, but because of the combination of the dance and acting in the performance,” dance instructor Vickie Finlayson said. “This is a new venture for us, and it will be a captivating show.”
Local composer Jim Connolly wrote the music for the performance and theatre arts Professor John Blondell directed the acting students. Michael Pearce did the lighting and Miller James did the costumes. Blondell, Finlayson and Connolly all work together in the Lit Moon Theatre Company.
