Westmont
Westmont’s Music Drama Workshop offers a variety of songs from Broadway to opera Sunday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in Deane Chapel. The Musical Revue, which will last about an hour, is free and open to the public.
The show will feature songs from “Les Miserable,” “Camelot” and “Into the Woods” as well as other favorites. “We are also giving a sneak preview of arias from ‘The Old Maid and Thief,’” says Celeste Tavera, adjunct professor and Music Drama Workshop teacher.
John Blondell, professor of theater arts, and Michael Shasberger, Adams professor of music and worship, join forces to present two operas together, Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrone” and Carlo Menotti’s “The Old Maid and Thief,” on Jan. 3031 at 7 p.m. in Porter Theater. General admission to each performance is $10; students are free. To purchase tickets or obtain more information, please call (805) 565-6040.
