Westmont Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance David Newton will present the lecture “Right Here, Right Now: The Case for America's War on Terror” 7 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Page Multipurpose Room on the upper
Westmont campus.
Dr. Newton, Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at Westmont since 1990, has developed a comprehensive retrospective and contemporary analysis of the issues, events, and people that define America's War on Terror. The lecture is accompanied by an interactive slide presentation, and outlines a strong argument in support of Bush Administration foreign policy since 9/11, including the clear justification for both Operation
Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and reviews the political profile of the region from 1979-2004.
The lecture was originally previewed at the Young America's Reagan Ranch Foundation in September, and was then presented again in Santa Barbara on October 10th, and in the City Room Mezzanine at the Empire State Building in Manhattan on October 15th. The presentation will also be featured at the Young America's West Coast Leadership Conference, November 12-13, 2004 at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, large national college-university student leadership conference that attracted more than 500 in 2003.
