Students Perform a Variety of Songs, Arias

The Westmont Music Drama Class performs "An Audition Day"

Seven students from the Westmont Music Drama Class perform songs and arias from a wide range of musicals and operas Sunday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. in Westmont’s Deane Chapel. “An Audition Day” is free and open to the public.

Michael DeMichillie, Megan Monroe, Kathryn England, Lauren White, Katie Palmquist, Molly Sexton and Mak Manson will perform, and pianist Paula Hatley, an adjunct professor who has accompanied the Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus and the Santa Barbara Master Chorale, will accompany them.

Adjunct professor Celeste Tavera, a 1987 Metropolitan Opera National Council winner, directs the performance.

The repertoire of “An Audition Day,” includes music from “Carousel,” “The Medium,” “Most Happy Fellow,” “Our Town,” “Samson and Delilah,” “Giuditta,” “Chicago,” “The Audition” and ‘The Light in the Piazza.”
