Talk Examines Muslim Conversion, Christianity

Dr. David Garrison
Dr. David Garrison

Author David Garrison examines a trend of Muslims becoming Christians in his lecture about his most recent book, “A Wind in the House of Islam: How God Is Drawing Muslims around the World to Faith in Jesus Christ,” Thursday, April 6, at 3:30 p.m.in Darling Foundation Lecture Hall at Westmont’s Winter Hall, room 210. The World Christianity and Adams Mission Fund Lecture is free and open to the public.

Garrison will discuss his travels through over a quarter million miles of the Muslim world and the numerous interviews with Muslim-background believers in movements to faith in Jesus Christ. “He will describe how God is continuing to turn the hearts of Muslims to Christ through his work with Global Gates, a new effort focused on unreached peoples in major gateway cities through evangelism,” says co-facilitator Ronald See, Westmont professor of neuroscience and psychology. “I am particularly impressed by the many field experiences of Dr. Garrison and his heart for seeing Christ exalted in Muslim peoples around the world.”

Garrison earned his doctorate from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree from Golden State Seminary. He has lectured at institutions such as Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fuller Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Seminary and Columbia Biblical Seminary. In recent years, he has authored multiple books and edited internationally acclaimed resources that have been translated into multiple languages. Garrison currently serves as executive director of Global Gates.
