Talk to Feature Top Local Bankers

carter_crockettThree prominent, local bankers will discuss the opportunities and challenges of banking in the current business climate during a panel discussion, Wednesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m. in Hieronymus Lounge. “Banking: Over-Regulated or Under-Entrepreneurial” is part of Westmont’s on-going Economic and Business Speaker Series which is free and open to the public.

The panel and discussion will be moderated by Carter Crockett, Westmont assistant professor of economics and business.

Panelists will include: Mike McGuire, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Affinity Bank; Frederick W. Clough, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Pacific Capital Bankcorp; and Rod Brown, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Montecito Bank & Trust.

Crockett says the discussion will explore questions of whether banking regulations are hampering entrepreneurial activity and what the future holds for new local banks in today’s financial climate.
