Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra Concert

Embrace the sounds of Christmas and classical music 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Westmont Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra concert in Deane Chapel on Westmont’s lower campus. Admission is free.
“The group has grown in size, morale and quality each semester,” director Ron McCarley said.
The group will perform two medleys, a selection of Christian hymns and Christmas carols as well more serious music, McCarley said. They will perform “Suite” by the Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos, “Overture for Winds” by Charles Carter, “Serenade” by modern Christian composer V. Persichetti, and “Fairest of the Fair,” a classic band march by J.P. Sousa. A flute quartet will also play a piece, McCarley said.
