Yi-Fan Lu, Ph.D.

Dr. Lu obtained his B.S. degree in Life Science from National Taiwan University in 2010. He then moved to Durham, North Carolina, to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University. His research focus was on the genetics of hepatitis C treatment response, human congenital disorders, and neurological disorders (epilepsy) in the Center for Human Genome Variation at Duke. After his Ph.D. training, he then joined Columbia University in New York City for the postdoctoral work and focused on the applications of CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, ER-stress, and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) on neurological disease research. He joined the Westmont Biology Department in the fall of 2017.
