Transportation The 955
The TRANSLOC app for THE 955 is available in app stores.
The 955 is a free, reservation-based ride service for Westmont students offering transportation to off-campus sites not accessed by our shuttle service for rides to appointments, internships, jobs, the airport and train station.
The shuttle should be your main means of transport to downtown, beaches, Vons, Trader Joe's - please use The 955 only for essential rides (e.g. jobs). You may find you'll wait quite a while for a ride when the requests are too many for the one driver we have at any given time...sometimes there might be two, but not often.
- Requests must be made 24 hours in advance.
- The 955 is NOT a means of transport for students living off campus (OV or other housing).
- The 955 is a supplemental service to the shuttle with limited availabilities.
- Service begins the 2nd week of classes.
- Service area: Montecito to Patterson Avenue/SBA. (We hope to add Goleta in the future.)
- Our MTD city bus service is a great option. See their schedules and other info at sbmtd.gov. Take the shuttle to one of MTD's stops and plan your course from there.

The 955 Operating hours: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM every day
We generally have 1 van and 1 driver at any time...we try our best to accommodate all requests!
HOW TO REQUEST A RIDE:
- Download the TransLoc ride app, create your account with your Westmont login credentials.
- Requests should be made 24 hours in advance.
- The driver will combine requests to efficiently accommodate multiple riders, so your pick-up time may not be exactly when you want it.
Be ready at your pick-up/drop-off location 5-10 minutes early. Drivers make every effort to arrive at your location “ON TIME” (which can be 10 minutes before or after the requested time). Traffic can make a huge difference on timing, especially between 2-5:30 PM!
The 955 drivers reserve the right to refuse service, particularly to those who are repeatedly late or have excessive no-shows or late cancellations.
