Westmont Magazine The Search is On

Under the leadership of Trustee Gary Harris, the Presidential Search Committee  has begun its task of recommending Westmont’s seventh president to the board of trustees. After 25 years, David Winter will step down as president June 30, 2001.

At their first meeting in July, the group interviewed representatives of two search firms and selected Academic Search Consultation Service.

“I’m confident that Dr. Bruce Alton, one of the ASCS principals, will be a very helpful resource to us,” Harris says. “Academic Search is the most highly utilized executive search firm for the academic presidency in the United States. It has earned an excellent reputation in the process of serving more than 400 colleges. Dr. Alton has assisted many liberal arts institutions, including a number of Christian colleges, in their presidential searches.”
