"I study in STEM because I am fascinated by the depths and rigor of knowledge we have in physics and mathematics. It's exciting to me to engage in learning some of the deepest mysteries at the roots of how we understand the universe, at the same time, my studies at Westmont have inspired me to be careful that I use this knowledge in ways that serve others. I aspire to pursue graduate studies in Medical Physics in order to learn clinical practices for the treatment of cancers and other life-threatening diseases."
“I love studying STEM at Westmont because it challenges my perspective of the world every day. There’s so much beauty in complex creation, and I get to spend my time understanding it!
Chisondi Warioba - a triple major in biology, chemistry and physics - graduated from Westmont in 2021 and was accepted to the University of Chicago to further cultivate his love for science and medicine. He is pursuing a PhD in Medical Physics.
“I didn’t plan on triple majoring or anything, I just took classes that I liked and it ended up being a triple major….I’ve talked to my friends at other schools and they’re not friends with their professors. I would say that I am friends with professors like Dr. Haines and Dr. Silverstein."

“The laws of physics are extensions of God’s constant nature, and we use these concepts to describe how Christ holds all things together. I see my research as a way to learn more about God through His handiwork.”
“Design, in my opinion, is all about creating things that help people. This is a significant way that engineers fulfill Jesus’ command to love people. Our passion for designing well comes from our commitment to love people well, in the name of Jesus.”
"We are asking the fundamental questions: What is the universe made of? What are the building blocks — the fundamental particles?...It comes from an observation in astrophysics, but we can’t explain it based on particles we produce in the lab. There are a lot of things scientists don’t understand and we can be a part of solving these questions."
"In Him we live and move and have our being."
