Westmont Magazine Access This Article on Your iPad

An interactive version of the Westmont Magazine is now available for iPad owners

If you’ve become accustomed to reading newspapers, magazines and books on your iPad, you now have the option of adding the Westmont magazine to your digital library. You can download the new iPad app for this publication through Apple’s App Store (search for Westmont).

“Westmont is committed to exploring a variety of emerging technologies, but we have a special focus on mobile devices given their popularity,” says Reed Sheard, vice president for college advancement and chief information officer.“We’re excited to provide an interactive experience for magazine readers and take advantage of the advanced features of the iPad.”

The Westmont magazine is available on the iPhone as well as the Internet via computer. The iPhone app (downloaded from the iTunes App Store) and online versions (http://blogs.westmont.edu/magazine/) are searchable, with issues going back to 1995.

The iPad magazine includes all the content from the printed copy, including class notes, which aren’t found online or on the iPhone. The iPad version also features additional photos for many stories.

One of the most exciting features of the new app is the ability for readers to easily watch videos (such as the one for Westmont Impact, above) and check out websites mentioned in magazine stories. “We look forward to adding more interactive content in future issues,” Sheard says.
