Westmont Magazine Alumna Joins Board of Advisors

 

Janet Lamkin ’81, president and chief executive officer of the California Bankers Association, has joined the Westmont Board of Advisors. The 16-member board provides a criticial link between the college curriculum and post-graduate experiences. Its principal purpose is to bring new ideas and fresh viewpoints from the business community. The board meets twice a year and reports to the college president. Prior to joining CBA, Lamkin was the corporate communications and public affairs executive for Bank of America’s corporate marketing and communications team. She began her career as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill and was vice president and director of federal government and public affairs until 1994. She was named one of the 10 most influential businesswomen in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times in 2002 and 2003.
