Westmont Magazine Alumni Go Back to School

What would it be like to return to Westmont for a day and go to classes taught by current faculty? Over the years, John and Sharon Eson Rieckewald ’69 have asked themselves this question, and they decided to answer it by organizing the first ever Westmont Alumni College. Scheduled for Saturday, November 16, the event will feature classes with two Westmont professors.

Professor Dave Lawrence from the political science department will discuss, “Election ’96: The Vote and What It Means.” During lunch, Stan Gaede ’69, Westmont’s new provost, will share his vision for the college. In the second class, Ron Enroth, professor of sociology, will address, “Understanding the New Age Movement.” The day will end at 4:00 p.m. so participants can rediscover the beaches, shops, and restaurants of Santa Barbara.
