Westmont Magazine From the Chairman of the Board
Dear Friend of Westmont,
On behalf of the Westmont Board of Trustees, I am pleased to report our delight with the ongoing momentum at Westmont.
Once again, the college has ended the year in the black and made strides in strengthening its financial situation. Westmont enjoyed a successful year recruiting highly qualified faculty and students and sending more than 300 graduates out into the world to use their talents and leadership skills.
The purpose of this report is to inform you, the major stakeholders in the institution, about our activities during the past fiscal year. We deeply appreciate your support and involvement in our ministry of higher education. Every single donor listed in these pages has made an important and valuable contribution to Westmont. The entire college community joins me in expressing sincere thanks for you.
We have much to rejoice about: the completion of 10 more faculty homes, recognition of the college and President Winter by the Templeton Foundation, and the recruitment of outstanding faculty and highly qualified students.
But we must also look to the future and the significant challenges we face. The college continues to seek approval for our updated campus master plan. Committed to completing the campus in the next 15 years, we are raising funds for new academic buildings for the visual arts and sciences. We have also begun a new initiative to gain greater visibility for Westmont and enhance the college’s reputation.
You have an opportunity to join us in these important endeavors. I hope you will.
Gary Harris
Chair, Westmont Board of Trustees
