Westmont Magazine Fitness Center Taking Shape
Before the end of the fall semester, students will work out in the new E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center in the Murchison Gymnasium complex. Thanks to a grant from the E. L. Wiegand Foun-dation of Reno, Nevada, and successful fund-raising by the Westmont Parents Council, the college began construction on the new facility in August. Westmont needed $129,000 to match the $100,000 grant, and parents exceeded that goal by giving a total of $137,078.
Renovating the existing weight room and converting two patios and a classroom will create a four-room center that houses up-to-date exercise equipment and a fitness lab to encourage healthy habits.
