Westmont Magazine A Lifetime of Service
Bob Campbell ’44, a member of the first class to attend Westmont for four years, has provided life-long leadership and service in Christian higher education and the ministry as a teacher, pastor, and administrator. To recognize these achievements, the Alumni Association presented him with the first ever Distinguished Service Medal at Homecoming in September.
The former head of the American Baptist Churches, he has taught at colleges and seminaries, served as a dean for 18 years, and retired as president of Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bob has also written a number of books, including “Jesus Still Has Something to Say.” Throughout the years, he has kept close ties with his alma mater and provided valuable volunteer service to Westmont. He and his wife, Lotus Graham Campbell ’44, have two grown children and live in Santa Barbara.
