Westmont Magazine A New Venture
Economics and business students are putting theory into practice during the first ever “Westmont Venture Forum.” Ed Birch, executive vice president, is working with business people to bring together owners of local firms who want to raise equity capital with investors interested in financing emerging companies. This event benefits Santa Barbara businesses and informs financiers about opportunities for economic development. About seven firms, selected from over 100 applicants, will make presentations to venture capitalists and investors. While Westmont is not directly involved in the interchange, business and economics students have been active participants in the process.
