Westmont Magazine A Patriotic Award

In March, Wayne Selleng from the California Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (far right) presented President Stan Gaede and Provost Shirley Mullen (center) with Patriotic Employer awards. Westmont supports employees such as Old Testament Professor Bill Nelson (second from left), who is a chaplain in the Air National Guard, and Kevin Hanley (second from right), manager of custodial services, who is a Navy reservist. Two students attended the presentation: Andy Sklar (far left), commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force in May after serving in the Air Force ROTC, and Natasha Gettings, a reservist in the Army. Courtney Butler, another student reservist, was called to duty and left Westmont mid-semester.
