Biography/Details

Hello, my name is Laura Danhauer. I am a Santa Barbara native and an RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. I graduated from the Santa Barbara City College Nursing Program, earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Holy Names College, and will graduate with my Master of Science in Nursing Education this year. Since 2002, I have worked in the N.I.C.U. at Cottage Hospital as a charge nurse, transport nurse, and new nurse preceptor. In addition, I am a Certified Lactation Educator and a hospital-based Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our three children. It is an honor to be a part of the Westmont College nursing program. My goal as a nurse educator is to make a positive impact on the ABSN students and to promote healthcare excellence in my hometown community. To prospective and current students, nursing is a rewarding and fulfilling career, congratulations on the beginning of your nursing journey!
