Westmont Magazine Students Spring into Action
About 300 students and community volunteers spent spring break doing outreach in Ensenada, Mexico, for Potter’s Clay, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year. Teams constructed six two-bedroom houses and a community facility for the disabled. Doctors, dentists and ophthalmologists treated about 1,000 patients who have little access to medical care. Other teams assisted local pastors in villages.
In addition, some 60 students worked with a number of organizations in Los Angeles and San Francisco (Spring Break in the City), Jackson, Miss. (Racial Equality and Justice Group), and a Navajo reservation outside Phoenix, Ariz.
