Westmont Magazine Students Step Up
Once again, the Westmont Fund has exceeded its annual goal. By the end of the 1999-2000 fiscal year, the college had raised $1.75 million to support ongoing programs, 17 percent above the target of $1.5 million.
Alumni, parents, friends, foundations, and businesses all gave generously to set this mark. Students also made a contribution. Following the example of the class of 1999 (47 percent gave), seniors this year more than met the challenge, with a record 53 percent participating. An anonymous parent pledged $4 for every $1 the students donated if 50 percent gave, so the class of 2000 contributed $20,000 to the Westmont Fund with this match.
