Westmont Magazine Teachers of the Year

Each year, Westmont recognizes three outstanding faculty, chosen by the students, with the Bruce and Adaline Bare Professor of the Year award. The recipients were honored at Commencement.

A professor from each division receives the award. The 2003 recipients are: Lisa De Boer, assistant professor of art, for humanities; Rick Pointer, professor of history, for social sciences; and Tom Fikes, associate professor of psychology for natural and behavioral sciences.

John Blondell, professor of theater arts, received the Faculty Research Award at the spring convocation service.

Three faculty members have become members of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society: President Stan Gaede; Karen Jobes, associate professor of religious studies; and Kim Kihlstrom, assistant professor of computer science.
