Westmont Magazine Tom Andrews Applauded

Former academic dean and professor of history Tom Andrews celebrated 10 years of service as executive director of the Historical Society of Southern California this fall. HSSC members and friends paid him tribute during a luncheon at Los Angeles’ Biltmore Hotel on September 21.

They credited Tom with developing a renewed mission statement and a strategic plan, as well as instituting innovative activities and award programs and boosting HSSC’s publications efforts. With comments such as, “Tom’s tenure has brought a greater sense of excitement to HSSC,” and “I consider Tom Andrews a Southern California treasure,” Tom has good reason to say, “All of this has been very rewarding.

Tom served Westmont from 1978 to 1983.
