Westmont Magazine Wallace Emerson Society
When Mary Fern Roberson Engle ’46 celebrated her 50th reunion as a “Golden Warrior” this year, she also marked her 20th anniversary of making annual gifts to Westmont. Growing up in a family committed to supporting missions and ministries has inspired her to help students at the college. Even her husband, Gilbert, who ran his own custodial business before his death, gave his tools to Potter’s Clay when he became ill. His legacy lives on in this ministry to the needy in Ensenada, Mexico. After attending Westmont, Mary Fern graduated from San Jose State and worked at Chico State for nearly 30 years as a lab assistant in the biology department. By providing for Westmont in her will as well as with a gift annuity, she expresses her love for students and her hope for the future.
