Both Dean and Wendy Whitener Hirsch focus on the needs of others in their work. For 20 years, Dean ’69 has served World Vision, a global relief and development organization that cares daily for 1.2 million children in more than 100 countries. Currently the president, he has held positions as vice president for relief, vice president for development, and chief operating officer. A licensed marriage, family, and child counselor, Wendy ’71 practiced privately before becoming a consultant who teaches conflict resolution and team-building to businesses and organizations. The Hirschs’ concern for youth extends even to college students. By making a provision for Westmont in their estate, they will assist generations of young men and women formulate Christian values and build a strong foundation for life during their undergraduate years.
