Westmont Magazine Wallace Emerson Society
While Bernie and Marilyn Nichols never attended school together, they share a heritage of Christian education. Marilyn graduated from Westmont in 1957, and Bernie attended Berry, a Christian college in Georgia. They have returned to their roots in several ways. After retiring as a vice president for Control Data Corporation, Bernie spent three years as alumni director at Berry. Two years ago, Marilyn became the catalog librarian at the Westmont library where she worked as a student. Believing that Christian education has high value, they have provided for both Westmont and Berry in their will. Their planned giving and commitment to educating Christian leaders typifies members of the Wallace Emerson Society.
