Westmont Magazine Warriors Win Fourth Title
For the third time in four years and the second year in a row, the women’s soccer team has won the NAIA national championship. With four national titles, Westmont boasts the most successful women’s soccer program in NAIA history. Ranked third in the nation going into the playoffs, Westmont won the regional championship by beating Azusa Pacific 1-0, the same team they defeated in the national finals 2-1 to repeat as champions. The Warriors ended the year 20-1-2.
Kristi Sullivan, who scored the two goals against Azusa, was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Her sister, Karin Sullivan, and Janel Kaden also contributed to the Warriors’ dominant performance.
