Westmont Magazine Watch The Westmont Fund Grow
With limited resources, Westmont has built an academic program that commands national respect and recognition. The recent “U.S. News & World Report” survey of America’s Best Colleges proves this point. Ranked in the third tier of the leading liberal arts colleges in the country, Westmont spends far less per student than the other schools in its grouping.
By addressing critical needs in annual operations, The Westmont Fund will establish a stronger financial base for the college and enable it to continue—and strengthen—its outstanding program.
The Westmont Fund supports student scholarships, faculty compensation, campus maintenance, acquisition of new technology, and other annual operating expenses. Gifts earmarked for these purposes or listed as unrestricted count toward the $950,000 goal.
During the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the college received $126,442 for The Westmont Fund. Dr. Edward E. Birch, executive vice president, expects that figure to increase substantially in the second quarter as alumni/ae, parents, and friends make traditional year-end gifts to Westmont.
